Massage Therapy (RMT) at
Phoenix Rehab
Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) is the therapeutic use of hands-on techniques to treat the muscles, joints, and soft tissues of the body. Unlike relaxation massage, RMT is provided by highly trained and regulated health professionals who combine clinical knowledge with therapeutic touch.
At Phoenix Rehab, our RMTs assess your condition and develop personalized treatment plans that may include deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, and stretching techniques. Whether you are recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, or seeking stress relief, massage therapy supports both your physical health and overall well-being.
Conditions We Treat
Our RMTs support patients with a wide range of conditions, including:
Sports Injuries – sprains, strains, and recovery after training.
Motor Vehicle Accidents (ICBC Claims) – soft tissue rehabilitation and pain management after accidents.
Work-Related Injuries (WorkSafeBC) – repetitive strain, posture-related discomfort, and stress-related tension.
Chronic Pain – persistent back, neck, shoulder, and joint pain.
Headaches & Migraines – tension relief to reduce frequency and severity.
Stress & Muscle Tension – relaxation massage for overall mental and physical wellness.
Post-Surgical Recovery – gentle techniques to improve circulation and mobility during healing.
Modalities & Techniques
Our RMTs use a variety of evidence-based techniques to relieve pain, restore movement, and support recovery:
Deep Tissue Massage – targets deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue for lasting relief.
Swedish Massage – gentle, flowing strokes to promote circulation and relaxation.
Myofascial Release – releasing tension in connective tissue to restore mobility.
Trigger Point Therapy – applying pressure to knots (“trigger points”) that refer pain to other areas.
Sports Massage – tailored treatments for athletes to prevent injury and support recovery.
Prenatal Massage – gentle, safe techniques designed to reduce pregnancy-related discomfort, relieve lower back and hip pain, and promote relaxation for expectant mothers.
Injury Rehabilitation – focused massage therapy to support healing after injuries, reduce scar tissue, improve mobility, and restore function.
Stress Relief Massage – calming massage techniques that ease muscle tension, reduce stress, and improve overall well-being and sleep quality.
Stretching & Mobilization – assisted stretches to increase flexibility and improve range of motion.
How Massage Therapy Works at Phoenix Rehab
We provide a step-by-step approach to ensure safe, effective treatment:
Step 1: Initial Assessment & Treatment Plan
Each session begins with a review of your health history and current concerns. Your RMT identifies areas of tension, injury, or imbalance and develops a tailored plan.
Step 2: Personalized Massage Sessions
Your RMT applies techniques suited to your goals — whether pain relief, injury rehabilitation, or stress management. Pressure levels and techniques are always adjusted to your comfort.
Step 3: Ongoing Recovery & Wellness
For long-term results, our RMTs provide self-care strategies, stretches, and lifestyle advice to complement your sessions. Many patients include massage as part of their ongoing wellness routine.
What to Expect in a Session
Initial sessions last 45–60 minutes (assessment + treatment).
Follow-up sessions may be 30, 45, or 60 minutes depending on your needs.
Techniques are always adapted to your comfort — from gentle relaxation to deep tissue pressure.
Many patients report both immediate relief and cumulative benefits with regular care.
Sessions are conducted in a professional, private, and therapeutic environment.
